Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer who will play an active role in product development from concept to prototype and into production. This position offers hands-on involvement in real engineering problems while also providing the opportunity to take ownership of specific subsystems over time.

You will work cross-functionally with Production, Quality, and Supply Chain teams, contributing to both design and operational excellence.

What You’ll Do:

• Create 3D CAD models preferably using CREO and 2D drawings, including GD&T, fixation strategies and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Design and develop custom fixtures and equipment for prototyping and product testing, and lead the process from technical documentation through prototype manufacturing to implementation.
• Define part tolerances during the design phase with a strong focus on DFM and DFA principles.
• Track engineering changes across ongoing projects; collaborate closely with procurement, manufacturing, and configuration teams throughout prototype production processes; and ensure the uninterrupted execution of operational workflows.
• Collaborate with Andar engineers and coordinate across departments for seamless prototype manufacturing.

What You’ll Bring:

• Background in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or equivalent. 1-3 years of experience preferred, demonstrating completion of a full-lifecycle design project.
• Intrinsic motivation and strong organizational discipline combined with the skill to navigate tight schedules and work through technical obstacles by reasoning from core principles.
• Strong technical communication skills demonstrated through 3D modeling, 2D drafting, hand sketching, hands-on prototyping, data acquisition, and effective presentation.
• Creative and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving and product design.
• Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
• Skilled in technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, teamwork, communication, and time management.
