Senior Electrical Engineer (Low Voltage)

Ghafari Associates is looking for SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (LOW VOLTAGE) to join our ISTANBUL, TURKEY office. Candidates will work a HYBRID schedule, with at least 3 days in the Istanbul Office.

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Provide data, telecommunication, LAN, WLAN, DAS, security, CCTV, access control, audio visual, BMS, and fire alarm systems design for new construction and/or renovation of industrial or commercial structures in conformance to client requirements and applicable codes. Provide engineering to develop the construction documents for the installation, telecommunication and security networks, and fire alarm systems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Possess / demonstrate the engineering knowledge and understanding to design or analyze data, telecommunication, security, and fire alarm systems for the design and installation, of data, telecommunications, security, and fire alarm systems/networks using applicable BICSI, ANSI/TIA/EIA guidelines, IBC, NFPA/EN standards.
• Review and/or establish project scope, low voltage budget, design approach, and applicable constraints with the Project Manager or client as appropriate.
• Knowledge of all aspects of BICSI guidelines, IBC, NFPA/EN standards, as they apply to the design.
• Able to completely design a Public Address System.
• Able to design audio visual systems.
• Able to conduct CCTV and Wi-Fi studies using third-party software.
• Able to design network architecture for all types of building management and scada systems.
• Able to design commercial and emergency DAS systems.
• Able to provide threat and security analysis reports for various types of facilities.
• Able to adhere to project quality, budget, and schedule.
• Prepare feasibility studies and schematic design packages.
• Perform production and quality monitoring of construction documents per company standards.
• Communicate and work with all other disciplines to produce coordinated construction documents.
• Edit or draft project specifications.
• Develop and mentor less experienced staff.
• Lead and manage a team of engineers on international and domestic projects.
• Help advance the company's and department's knowledge base, standards, design tools, and details.
• Develop accurate project cost estimates.
• Conduct field measuring and checking at the construction site.
• Maintain organized project file containing project calculations, correspondence, appropriate reference materials, etc.
• Review project submittals (shop drawings) for conformance with contract documents; specify action required for conformance.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering preferred or related field, Telecommunications Engineering, Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:

• 10+ years of related and progressively more responsible experience in data, telecommunication, fire alarm and security engineering field.

SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

• Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD.
• RCDD certification preferred.
• Security Certification CPP PSP from ASIS or ICAO preferred.
• Additional skills: Microsoft Office, emphasis on Excel and MSWord, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks, Acoustic Calculators EASE, CCTV design tools JVSG and AXIS site designer, Wi-Fi heatmap simulators Ekahau and iBwave, Autodesk ACC and BIM360 and Bluebeam Revu.
